FOSCO International School( FIS) held its 2017- 2018 Year End Concert

On Friday, June 8, 2018, FOSCO International School held its Year End Concert! This annual celebratory extravaganzashowcases the talents and progress of all the students in the school. This year the theme was ‘FIS Circus Spectacular’ and it really was a great spectacle, with singing, dancing, magic, acrobatics and lots of fun and laughter. The concert was held at the Children’s House of Ho Chi Minh City, which provided a brilliant setting and an intimate atmosphere for everyone to enjoy the show.

After the Karate Club members gave an impressive display of their skills, Ms Ha Thi Le Khanh, Principal, opened the concert with some warm heart-felt words and welcomed our honored guests from the FOSCO Board of Management including: Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Nhung – Deputy General Director of FOSCO company; Mr. Nguyen Truc – [title] and other guest from FOSCO. She congratulated everyone on their magnificent achievements this year and implored everyone, students and teachers alike, to “take the chance to dedicate themselves to making next year even better”.

Then our graduates from Grade 5 and the Prep Classes took center stage. Prep Class students entered first to take their bow and receive certificates and congratulations from Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Truc, Vice Principal, and Mr. Darren Paine, Academic Director. Next, Grade 5 students were joined on stage by their proud parents to say a final farewell before they move on to middle school. They were presented their certificates by the Principal and Academic Director. Finally, all the graduates joined together to sing “You Raise Me Up”, a song of celebration and gratitude which moved everyone in the hall.

The audience was then treated to a display by the members of the Ballet Club, before each of the classes then came on stage for their performances. The variety, skills and passion impressed everyone watching, and it was a delight to see how hard they had all worked on putting their acts together. Every performance from every class was a highlight, especially for the proud parents in the audience. There were also highly enjoyable performances from the Hula Hoop Club and a magician.

The concert was both a joyous occasion bringing the whole school community together and a time to reflect fondly on all the accomplishments through the year. Bringing the concert to a close, Mr. Darren Paine, Academic Director, congratulated everyone on their achievements this year and thanked everyone for their hard work in making the concert such a brilliant success. The concert ended with a teacher and staff performance which brought a smile to everyone’s faces and presentation of appreciation awards to staff and teachers. Everyone went home with joy in their hearts and on their faces, ready to enjoy summer before returning to school next year.
