Last Friday, FOSCO International School held its highly-anticipated annual FOSCO International School Olympics.
All classes from Prep to Grade 5 competed in a series of fun games and competitions. Each student joined one of 6 teams, corresponding to their house. Blue and Green teams represented Blue house, Orange and Red for Red House, and Yellow and White for Yellow house. At the start of the day, students went off to join their teammates and the teachers leading the team. Then everyone gathered in the assembly area to wait for the games to start.
Students competed for their teams, racing to score as many points as possible. Games included – Basketball, an Obstacle Course, Frisbee Throw, a Sack Race and a Water Relay. After snack time, there was a nail-biting Penalty shootout for teams to compete directly against each other.
The excitement continued with a Juniors-against-Seniors Basketball match, and culminated in a Seniors-against-Teachers Basketball match. All classes from K2 to Grade 5 then joined our annual Olympic BBQ.
On Monday morning, the ‘Most Valuable Players’ (MVPs) – the students who had tried their best and cheered on their teammates – from each team were announced. Then the new Olympic cup was presented to the winning team – Green team! Everyone had great fun and gave their all for each other and their team! Once again the Olympics proved to be a very memorable day for all involved.
